Ricky Rojas
Broadway and West End Star
Ricky Rojas, a Chilean-born, Australian-raised singer/songwriter, has carved a path to international acclaim with a passion for performance that spans from London to New York. His journey began with the professional production of "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story," where he portrayed Ritchie Valens. Learning the guitar at 14, this role ignited Ricky's appreciation for the profound influence of Rock 'n' Roll, blues, and Country music on contemporary sounds.
Fueling his own creative fire, Ricky crafts material heavily inspired by blues and rooted in folk/rock, resisting genre constraints. His diverse roles in West End productions (Fame, Buddy, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and Broadway (Burn The Floor, Moulin Rouge) have showcased his versatility, yet he finds a unique honesty and spirituality when it's just him and his guitar.
"I love performing to a big audience with a big band behind you, but there is something honest and almost spiritual when it’s just you and your instrument....most of the time I prefer it," Ricky shares.
Notably, Ricky Rojas originated the role of Santiago in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, debuting in Boston in 2018 and later gracing Broadway in 2019. With a Broadway debut in 2009's Burn the Floor, Ricky has left his mark on London's West End in various productions, showcasing his dynamic talent and unwavering dedication to pursuing his musical dreams.
